This map c.1864-65 shows Mare Close to the north east of Seghill near Seaton Deleval in Northumberland. William Wigham (1769-1845), son to George Wigham (1727-1792), was resident at Mare Close (then Sig Hill) at the time of his death. He is buried at St Albans near Earsdon, Northumberland. The monument inscription reads,

 

William Wigham, Farmer, Mare Close who died ....JU....1845 aged ..... Grace ..... died 12th Jan 1861... 78 years. Gilbert their son died at Laverick Hall 17 Oct 1864 aged ... George Wigham, Laverick Hall ....20th...aged 73.
