Owen and Catherine Mooney fell victim of the flu epidemic of 1918. They died within weeks of each other leaving their only remaining child Winifred Jane (22). Michael Mooney - Winifreds only sibling, died of injuries sustained in the great war. During these tragic times, Winifred was living at Ravensworth Street, Howdon, Northumberland. She later (1919) married Ninian Nichol Wigham.
